Effingham County Courthouse

The neoclassicalcourthouse was designed by Savannah architect Hyman C. Whitcover and was built in 1909 soon after George Mills Brinson's railroad was extended to Springfield in August 1907. The building replaced a previous county courthouse built in 1849 and the court moved to a new location in 2006. This site is in the National Register of Historic Places.
