Saint James AME Church (McIntosh County)

Saint James AME is an African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church near Riceboro. The AME Church was established in Pennsylvania in 1816 and first came to Georgia around the end of the Civil War. It emphasizes social service. Saint James in McIntosh County is one of Georgia's more than 500 AME churches.
