Sunbury

Sunbury is now a ghost town, but was a thriving Georgia seaport, laid out on a bluff on the Midway River in 1758. It was a rival of Savannah in commerce and was a center of revolutionary activity. The town was destroyed during the American Revolution and later by the Union Army in 1864.
